How likely is it that you doze off or fall asleep in one of the following situations, even when you don't feel tired? The questions in the following test concern your recent everyday routine. Even if you have not recently experienced any of the situations, try to imagine how these would have affected you. Use the following scale in order to select the right score for each situation.

Snore test - Epworth Test (ESS)

The Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS) is a valid short survey for determining daytime sleepiness, where the chance of dozing and / or falling sleep is asked about in eight typical everyday situations.
Subjective assessment is then made using a four-level scale:

  • Would never doze
  • Slight chance of dozing
  • Moderate chance of dozing
  • High chance of dozing
  • Sitting and reading
  • Watching TV
  • Sitting still in a public place (e.g. theater, meeting)
  • As a passenger in a car without a break during the journey
